Interact District Council Applications
Do you want to get more involved in Interact? Do you want to lead amazing events such as the Fall Leadership Conference or the Interact District Conference? Are you the next Interact District Governor, Executive Assistant Governor, Secretary, or Assistant Governor? If so, then you're in the right place! District Council applications will open on Jan 1st! Check back them to download the application, and e-mail it to Art Harrington at arthts@msn.com by Apr 15th.
For first-time/returning members:
Assistant Governor:
As an Assistant Governor, you are assigned a group of Interact clubs within your geographical area at the start of the school year, and have the responsibility of communicating regularly with the leadership of those clubs to provide assistance and to encourage participation in district-wide projects and events. All AGs also serve in a leadership role at the council’s two main events of the year: the Interact District Conference and the Fall Leadership Conference. Additional duties may be assigned, such as Webmaster or Social Media Coordinator.
Requirements:
● Incoming Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior
● Current member of an Interact club in the district
● Can attend overnight activities and commit to attending online meetings once to twice a month
● Must attend the annual Interact District Council Leadership Retreat at the end of July, 2022
For returning members:
District Governor:
As the Interact District Governor, you preside over all District Council meetings and at the Interact District Conference, the Fall Leadership Conference and any other Interact district assemblies. It is your responsibility to represent the Interact district when requested at Rotary conferences and other events. The District Governor will also lead the Executive Committee of the District Council.
Requirements:
● Incoming Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior
● Current member of an Interact club in the district
● Must have served as a member of the Interact District Council for at least 1 year
● Can attend overnight activities and commit to attending online meetings once to twice a month
● Must attend the annual Interact District Council Leadership Retreat at the end of June, 2022
Additional Preferences:
● Has attended RYLA as a delegate
● Has served as a counselor at RYLA
● Has attended a Fall Leadership Conference and an Interact District Conference
